2013 sees the 2nd Tokyo International BarShow + Whisky Live Tokyo ("TIBS"), located at a new and spacious venue in the Shibuya district.
The event is being held over the weekend of April 20th and 21st, 2013 and runs from 11.30am until 6pm on each day. With an enticing combination of drinks products from all over the world and some of the very best practitioners of the art of bartending, TIBS has something for everybody. This year's larger venue will see TIBS spread over 2 floors, with a Cocktail & Bartending Zone upstairs and the Product Zone downstairs.
As well as being able to sample cocktails in the Cocktail & Bartending Zone, visitors will be able to enjoy a program of events on the main stage, including those featuring our 4 guest bartenders under the "Legends & Rising Stars" banner. Our special guests this year are:
Mr. Takao Mori,
the legendary owner/bartender at Bar Mori in Ginza.
Mr. Peter Dorelli,
formerly Bar Manager of the prestigious American Bar in London's world-famous Savoy Hotel.
Mr. Fumiyasu Mimitsuka,
Chief Bartender at Ginza's Bar Little Smith and recent winner of the "Best After-Dinner Cocktail" at the International Bartenders' Association World Championships.
Mr. Jim Meehan,
owner/bartender of Bar Please Don't Tell in New York, who previously worked at Pegu Club (currently managed by Kenta Gotoh, one of TIBS 2012's guest bartenders) and is a former holder of the American Bartender of the Year title.
Downstairs in the Product Zone, as well as new and enlarged exhibitor booths, there are two stages where a series of mini-seminars will be held throughout the weekend, some chaired by Whisky Magazine Japan Editor-in-Chief and world-renown drinks writer Dave Broom. Entrance to these mini-seminars is free, although numbers are limited to 50 people each. There are a variety of ways of obtaining tickets; please follow the link below for more information.
Tickets are on sale in participating bars around the country and, from Feb-1st, on the E+ ticket booking website. It is also possible to order tickets at the English webshop listed below. Entry tickets are JY5,000 for a 1-Day, or JY9,000 for a 2-Day ticket.
To obtain entry to the event, it is necessary either to hold a Whisky Live or TIBS Card, confirming that you have read and understood the Letter of Agreement regarding visitors to TIBS, or to complete a form upon arrival at the venue. To avoid queues we strongly recommend registering for a TIBS Card in advance; to do this, please follow the link below:
